The illegitimate daughter of a prince and a notorious courtesan, Lucia has been confined to schools and convents for most of her life. But that hasn’t stopped her from causing one scandal after another. Exasperated, her royal father decides that his exquisite hellion of a daughter must be married immediately. And Sir Ian Moore, Britain’s most proper diplomat, is the perfect man to choose her a groom.
Diplomacy, not matchmaker, is Ian’s forte, but he vows to get Lucia married off as soon as possible so that he may return to his real duties. Yet, despite an abundance of very eager, worthwhile candidates, none is a match for Lucia’s spirit and fire. And the more time Ian spends with the infuriating beauty, the more reluctant he is to marry her off. Could it be that he has already found Lucia the perfect husband…and it is Ian himself?

Thoughts, Thoughts, Thoughts..
This is my first read by Laura Lee Guhrke and it did not disappoint.
Once in a while, I crave for books which would make me just smile in the end. This are times when I experiment and read other authors. Since, I noticed that this book has been in my shelf for so long, I just picked it up started reading it. The synopsis got my attention and fifty pages in, the whole point of the story was explained and I liked it.
The story starts with Princess Lucia being sent to Ian a diplomat so that she could find a respectable husband. However, she has her own wants for a husband which Ian does not understand. Since, passion is not part of his criteria for finding her husband. However, everything does not go as planned and Ian became the groom. A lot of sexual tension and a push and pull emotional game was happening to both characters. It was entertaining to know that Ian who has a stuck up personality was so frazzled because of Princess Lucia. With all the witty bantering and sexual tension it was a light and fun read.
The characters were the usual hard headed princess paired with someone who sticks to the rules. I can’t help but love both Ian and Lucia. Yes, I’m a sucker for this trope. Also, the setting is in the Regency period, England. Aside from this, both characters are really so opposite each other that it was super interesting to see them fall in love with each other. Even if it was evident that both characters should not fall in love because it would be disgraceful.
I gave the story a 4.5 hearts rating because it was a fun read. I loved the story and I could reread it. When I crave a book, regency- romance is really the genre for me.I was not bored. The sexual tension was so thick that it made me anticipate their sexy moment. Also, I liked the witty, funny and light writing style of the author. Now, I’m on a hunt for her books in the second hand bookstore and she is part of my instant buy authors.
BUY, BORROW, NEVER MIND: Buy, because it was entertaining and a fun read.
